Duration: Full-Time Direct Hire
Location: Lincoln, NE (5 days/week onsite) **NO RELOCATION**
Required Pay Scale: $110,000 Annual Salary to $120,000 Annual Salary

Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional Cloud Dev Ops Engineer to maintain and continually improve our cloud-based applications. Cloud DevOps is what you get when you treat system operations as a software engineering problem. The mission of the Cloud DevOps Engineer is to ensure uninterrupted service for our clients and act as a force multiplier for our product teams to deliver better software faster.
Our Software Engineering organization brings engineering talent to the forefront and works closely with development to continuously deliver code to our clients that is reliable, scalable, and functional. We are looking for Cloud DevOps Engineers who have experience in developing automation and who can also help us continue our mission of providing high quality experience for our clients, while working in a collaborative, dynamic, and fun environment.
The SRE team builds foundational backend services as well as tooling and automation to allow product teams to release and scale their software reliably and predictably. SREs are team players who embed themselves within product teams as needed to advance the architecture and performance of software systems and train their peers in topics such as debugging distributed systems, building self-healing applications, and ensuring availability to fuel the company’s growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and deliver software automation to dramatically improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of our product services and cloud environments.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain high availability of software services for our product running in a multi-region AWS cloud environment.
- Collaborate with other Developers and Engineers to build, evolve, and maintain a scalable continuous build and deployment pipeline using mature CI/CD automation practices.
- Develop, maintain, and support Continuous Integration frameworks based on Jenkins.
- Continually improve cloud operations automation and tooling to monitor and maintain enterprise cloud-based applications.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues and work with the development team and SMEs to resolve issues.
- Identify possible points of failure in the infrastructure/applications and improve/resolve the identified vulnerability.
- Execute automation for common cloud-operations tasks and develop automation for new situations or issues you encounter.
- Conduct code reviews and guide more junior Site Reliability Engineers
- Stay current with development and automation techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Participate in Cloud Design and Architecture reviews.
- Lead and promote ideas that maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
- Assess and communicate risks based on product complexity and resource/timeline constraints.
- Collaborate to maintain, monitor, and improve amazing cloud-based-applications that solve real-world problems for our end users.
- Facilitate blame-free root-cause analysis meetings in the event of a production-systems incident and improve our systems and run books.
- Troubleshoot application-related support requests and escalate as needed.
- Perform application-related operations and management tasks to provision new customers, address operational requests, and keep the application running efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of Cloud DevOps Engineering with systems administration experience
- 5+ years of development/automation experience using object-oriented programming languages, such as Python or Java.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud services
- Experienced with modern DevOps engineering practices, including the virtualized hardware.
- Experience with Linux, such as RedHat or Ubuntu, and Windows
- Versed in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using technologies like Terraform, etc.
- Proficient with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef and leveraging those tools for configuration automation
- Able to effectively trouble-shoot issues across the entire stack from UI- > API – > Application
- Ability to analyze and translate requirements and development stories into automation.
Desired Skills:
- Experience using Kubernetes and related technologies (such as Docker/ContainerD) for application orchestration.
- Excited about using monitoring technologies to optimize performance and reducing the error modes of a cloud-based software stack.
- Experience maintaining and supporting feature-rich applications using modern software frameworks such as Django, Spring-Boot, Flask/FastAPI, etc.
- Understanding of networking and how it applies in cloud environments
- Knowledgeable about cybersecurity, in a cloud environment.
- Experience securing corporate networks, cloud networks, and VPNs.
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
- 1+ year or exposure to administering & consuming AWS services or other cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
- Experience with Linux, such as RedHat or Ubuntu, and Windows
- Advance knowledge of Continuous Integrations and delivery concepts, experience with Git, CVS, Jenkins, Gerrit, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with Agile development process (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc).
- Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Advanced Degree and/or Industry Certifications.
- Experience in Financial Services with a focus on enterprise architecture.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure support in mixed Linux and Windows environments
- Containerization experience with applications deployed on Docker or Kubernetes.
