DevOps Engineer with ServiceNow Experience or commensurate Java/JavaScript experience
The DevOps Engineer will join a ServiceNow Delivery team of 6 employees and 3 contractors who perform a variety and ServiceNow Platform and application functions including: Architecture, Solution Design, Integration, Catalog Development, Workflow Automation, Testing, Continuous Improvement Sprints, Implementation and Documentation and Training. The ideal candidate will need to have at least a few years (preferably 5+) of experience in a DevOps capacity with software development skills, should also have extensive knowledge of software development and various tools and coding languages. You will spend most of your time on the automation of all manual tasks for the building and deployment of both code and data, will consult on a number of projects as well as lead solution design session and ServiceNow integration efforts, will also train, supervise, and coordinate junior DevOps engineers, develop operations processes, implement new software deployment strategies, and conduct professional software testing when needed.

DevOps ServiceNow Scope of responsibility
ServiceNow Shared Service Support (Change Mgmt., Incident Mgmt., Knowledge Mgmt., Asset Mgmt.)

  • Catalog Enhancements, Catalog Development, Workflow Automation, Configuration Changes, Dashboard, Performance Analytics
  • Integration with internal source system, applications, Cloud,
  • Database table updates, custom tables and queries and scripts
  • Code Reviews and software release coordination
  • Participate in cross-functional teams sometimes performing the role as Tech Lead for integrations
    • Specifically
      • Provide clients with ServiceNow development best practices, advise and assist in their project implementations
      • Deliver ServiceNow development consulting services
      • Conduct technical analysis on the ServiceNow application, modules and databases
      • Develop ServiceNow design documentation and maintain documentation accuracy
      • Develop User Stories for ServiceNow Releases
      • Perform ServiceNow Application Configuration Changes
      • Develop custom code for ServiceNow application modules and integrations
      • Develop and modify ServiceNow workflows, forms, lists, business rules, UI components, web services, tables and menus
      • Code and configure interfaces between ServiceNow and other source systems
      • Adhere to ITIL v3 Service Operation processes
      • Other work as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software engineering with experience in DevOps or development
  • At least 2-3 years of ServiceNow development experience
  • At least 2-3 years of development experience with object-oriented programming languages
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript programming language with HTML, CSS and basic web programming
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively on a sprint-based software development team
  • Experience using Confluence and Jira for documentation
  • Experience automating tests using Automated Testing Framework (ATF)
  • Experience using GIT Repositories for tracking changes in any set of files, originally designed for coordinating work among team members collaborating on source code during software development.
  • Strong oral and writing communications as well as presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • A University degree in Computer Science or a similar field
  • 5+ years development experience within the ServiceNow platform
  • 3-5+ years’ experience with frontend frameworks such as AngularJS
  • Experience with PowerShell, SSH, REST and other automation scripting languages/tools
  • Experience with ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, Knowledge and CMDB
  • ServiceNow Certifications
